High Myopia Assessment

Research has shown that people with high myopia (more than -6.00 D) is at a higher risk of developing sight threatening eye diseases than people with no, or low myopia. Such diseases include cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment.

The main purpose is to detect and identify these diseases in the early stages. Early detection will allow better treatment outcome and less chances of permenant vision loss.

Our high myopia assessment at iSight goes one step further in monitoring the health of your eyes. Using an advance diagnostic equipment, optical coherence tomography (OCT), we are able to look at the cross sectional areas of the macula, optic nerve, and retina amd measure their thicknesses. The detail analysis of the result will allow us to look at your eye like never before, and we will be able to detect eye diseases at a much earlier stage, often before you experience symptoms.

If you have high myopia, and although you may achieve good vision with glasses or contact lenses, we, at iSight, strongly recommend an annual comprehensive eye examination, and a baseline high myopia assessment to monitor the health of your eyes.

Remember, early detection = better clinical outcome.
